Poisson d'Avril", April Fools' Day
Petite Left Bank in Tiburon pay homage to "Poisson d'Avril", April Fools' Day in France, by serving on Monday, April 1, a Chef’s special fish-centric menu item. At Left Bank, it will be Pan Seared Skate Grenobloise/$31, with grilled asparagus and roasted fingerling potatoes and at Petite Left Bank it will be Grilled Local Rockfish/$34, with green garlic fumet, flageolet beans, spinach, and sauce verte. In addition, 10% of sales of these items on that day will be donated to the BayEcotarium, whose mission is to protect the San Francisco Bay and its ecosystems. In France, April Fools’ Day is known as "Poisson d'Avril" (April Fish) because people play a trick that involves sticking a paper fish onto the back of as many others as possible, and then running away yelling "Poisson d'Avril!".
